Ha, becoming an observer might just be my backup plan if I can’t catch anything bigger than a goldfish at these tournaments. At least I’ll get to see how the pros do it, right? Maybe steal a trick or two, lol.

Reading about the observer role kinda makes me wanna try it. Seems like a unique way to get into the sport without having to be super skilled at fishing. Plus, the conservation angle is really cool!

ok, so they say its all for conservation, but how many fish actually get tagged and studied? feels like a fancy excuse to catch big fish if u ask me. would love to be proved wrong, though.

hey Paul Clayton, just read your piece and was wonderin’ how easy it is to sign up as an observer? I mean, i love fishin’ and all but never been part of a tournament. sounds like a cool way to see the action without actually competing. do i gotta take a test or something?
