While I agree with most of what’s written, shouldn’t we also consider the abrasiveness of the fishing environment? Like rocks, coral, etc., that can weaken the line over time.

I gotta say, while the overall advice is solid, not all saltwater fishing requires heavy line. Sight fishing in clear water for example, lighter lines can be more beneficial. It really depends on the situation.
